1. Professionalism: Always being ethical in everything we do.

3. Equality: Treating all community members and staff with equality regardless of their political affiliation, religious beliefs, economic status, gender, race or disability.
IN THE COURSE OF OBSERVING THE STATED VALUES AN PRINCIPLES, KAHAMA FM HAS INSTRODUCED A CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ITS JOURNALISTS, PRODUCERS AND PRESENTERS AS FOLLOWS:-

1. All workers must sign the attendance register when reporting for/out
of work/Watumishi wote wanapaswa kusaini kitabu cha mahudhurio waingiapo na watokapo kazini.

2. All workers must ensure that the station premises are always kept clean and neat/Watumishi wote wanapaswa kuhakikisha mazingira yote ya kituo yanakuwa safi wakati wote.

3. Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always expected to carry out their duties ethically and with high professional esteem/Wandishi wa habari, waandaaji wa vipindi na matangazo na watangazaji kwa ujumla wanatarajiwa kufanya kazi zao kwa weledi na nidhamu ya hali ya juu.

4. Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always expected to be clean and maintain a decent dressing code/Wandishi/Waandaaji vipindi na matangazo pamoja na Watangazaji wanatarajiwa kuwa nadhifu wakati wote na kuvaa mavazi yenye heshima.

5. Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always expected to be punctual and timeliness when reporting for work and in the course of accomplishing their assignments including production of radio programs and advertisements/Wandishi, Waandaaji vipindi na matangazo pamoja na Watangazaji wanatarajiwa kuwahi kazini na katika matukio yote ukiwemo uandaaji wa vipindi na matangazo.

6. In the course of executing their duties our Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always expected to abide by the Laws and Regulations governing the Broadcasting industry in Tanzania. In that regard, they should refrain from/Katika kutekeleza majukumu yao, Wandishi, Waandaaji na Watangazaji wakati wote wanapaswa kuzingatia matakwa ya sheria na taratibu zinazosimamia taaluma ya Habari na Utangazaji. Kwa misingi hiyo, hawapaswi kufanya yafuatayo:-
– Using bad and abusive language/Kutumia lugha mbaya na matusi.
– Playing bad content music and programs/Kupiga muziki na matangazo yanayokiuka maadili.
– Exposing children to bad and adultery contents/Kupiga nyimbo na matangazo yasiyostahili kuzikilizwa na watoto wadogo katika muda usioruhusiwa.

7. Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always required to be the custodians of all work equipment including but not limited to office furniture, computers, microphones, headphones, recorders and tablets and those found to be responsible of any damages they will be liable to pay/Wandishi, Waandaaji na Watangazaji wakati wote wanapaswa kuwa waangalizi na walinzi wa mali za kituo zikiwemo samani, computer, mixers, microphones, tablet na headphones na kwamba yeyote atakayebainika kufanya uharibifu wa vitu hivyo atapaswa kulipa.

8. The station Internet and Wi-Fi services should always be used for office purposes only. As such, Journalists, Producers and Presenters are not expected to indulge themselves in watching movies or pornography/Huduma ya Internet na Wi-Fi ya kituo inapaswa kutumika kwa masuala ya kazi ya kituo tu. Kwa misingi hiyo Wandishi, Waandaaji na Watangazaji hawatarajiwi kutumia huduma hizo kwa kuangalia movies zikiwemo za masuala ya ngono.

9. Foods, beverages and cigarettes are strictly prohibited to be taken in the studios/Vyakula, vinywaji vya aina yeyote na sigara haviruhusiwi kutumiwa ndani ya studio.

10. Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always expected to work in cooperation and in harmony. Use of abusive language or involving in physical confrontation against each others will lead to summary dismissal/Wandishi wa habari, Waandaaji na Watangazaji wanapaswa kufanya kazi kwa ushirikiano na utangamano Kutukanana au kupigana kutasababishwa kufukuzwa kazi.

11. Journalists, Producers and Presenters are always expected to put the interests of the radio station before anything. As such they are not expected to divulge internal information to any person outside the station. In the same spirit they are not allowed to share station programs, news and advertisements with another station without due concert of the Station Manager/Wandishi wa habari, Waandaaji na Watangazaji wanapaswa kuweka maslahi ya kituo mbele ya kila kitu. Kwa msingi huo hawatarajiwi kutoa taarifa za ndani ya kituo kwa mtu yeyote wan je. Aidha ni marufuku kutoa vipindi, habari na matangazo ya kituo kwa kituo kingine isipokuwa kwa idhini ya Meneja wa Kituo.

12. All Journalists, Producers and Presenters must attend postmortem meetings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1000hrs in order to review daily assignments as well as other staff meeting which are called by management from time to time/Wandishi wa habari, Waandaaji na Watangazaji wanapaswa kuhudhuria kikao cha mipango kazi kila Jumatatu, Jumatano na Ijumaa saa 4 asubuhi.

13. All Journalists, Producers and Presenters are duty bound to accept queries and criticism leveled against them during the postmortem meetings and acknowledge that the aim behind is to improve the quality of the radio programs/Wandishi wa Habari, Waandaaji wa Vipindi na Watangazaji kwa ujumla hawana budi kukubali kukusolewa kwenye vikao kazi na kutambua kuwa ukosoaji huo una lengo jema la kuboresha vipindi.

14. All Journalists/Reporters should submit their news stories to the news compilers before 1330hrs every day for the compiler to compile and submit the same to the Chief Editor at 1430hrs. The Chief Editor should edit all stories and ensure that news is ready and given to the Newsreader at 1530hrs. The Newsreader should pick the news from the Editor exactly at 1530hrs (30 minutes) before news time/Wandishi wote wa habari wanapaswa kuhakikisha wanakabidhi habari za kwa Muandaa habari wa zamu kabla ya saa 7.30 mchana kila siku. Muandaa habari atazipitia, kuzichuja na kuzipanga habari zote na kumkabidhi Mhariri Mkuu saa 8.30 mchana. Mhariri Mkuu atazipitia na kuhariri habari zote na kumkabidhi Msomaji saa 9.30 na Msomaji ahakikishe anachukua taarifa ya habari kwa Mhariri Mkuu ifikapo saa 9.30 mchana (nusu saa kabla ya kusomwa ili aweze kuipitia kwa nafasi).

15. All news bulletins shall be comprised of 60 per cent local (Shinyanga region) segment, 20 per cent national and 20 per cent international. Likewise, local music should comprise 80 per cent while exotic music 20 per cent of airtime/Taarifa zote za habari zitachukua asilimia 60 habari za nyumbani (mkoani Shinyanga), asilimia 20 kitaifa na asilimia 20 kimataifa.

16. All workers are strictly prohibited to associate themselves with all types of illegal activities i.e. gambling, illegal drugs, human trafficking and prostitution/Wafanyakazi wa radio hawaruhusiwi kujihusisha na vitendo vyovyote haramu kama mihadarati, kamari, ukahaba na usafirishaji haramu wa binadamu.

17. All workers should ensure that they always carry station identities, among others/Watumishi wakati wote wanapaswa kubeba na vitambulisho vyao vya kazi, pamoja na vinginevyo.

18. All workers are expected to be good ambassadors of the station wherever they/Watumishi wote wanapaswa kuwa Mabalozi wazuri wa kituo popote walipo.
